Maumelle is a city in Pulaski County, Arkansas, United States and a suburb of Little Rock. Founded by Jess Odom with federal assistance from the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act, it is an affluent master-planned community. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city was 14,318. However, a special 2006 census conducted by the Census Bureau found 15,115 people in Maumelle (March 9, 2006). Maumelle is northwest of Little Rock, bordering the opposite shore of the Arkansas River, and is part of the Little Rock-North Little Rock-AR Metropolitan Statistical Area.
