Principle of Operation

Linear Gap Displacement TransducerThe LGDT measures the distance from the probe tip to a flat surface using a fiber-optic probe consisting of three concentric fiber rings. It illuminates the target surface, measures the reflected light, and derives a measurement of the distance to the target.
